MAXMAGUIRE
I CREATE INVITATIONS FOR OTHERS TO CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER THROUGH PLAY. THERE’S A MAGICAL SPARK WHEN A PERSON TRANSITIONS FROM SOMEONE LOST IN THOUGHT TO SOMEONE LOST IN CREATIVE + PLAYFUL FLOW. I AM A PERSONAL TRAINER FOR YOUR IMAGINATION.
LITTLE BOX
Everything in my life has led up to the birth of Little Box. It combines a blend of connection, magic, mystery, gifting, creative participation and meaning, all packaged in a simple and playful invitation to receive, and give. What started off as a playful unassuming game at a festival, has slowly turned into my life’s work.
The mission of Little Box is to create a way for people to give and receive and raise awareness, and be donation portals for local and global charities all over the world.
When someone finds a Little Box, in that moment, their relationship with the world changes. If a person receiving a gift is moved by the intention of the giver, the receiver will naturally feel more inclined to give to someone else, out of love. They can do this by donating to the charity that has been selected by the person or organisation that has planted the Little Box.
/ IMAGINE
Imagine is a portfolio of selected imaginations using prompt engineering using midjourney.
MUSHLOVE
I started sketching one cartoon a day after my dad encouraged me to start drawing again. I was so inspired by a video from @struthless on youtube, I focused on consistency and simplicity and then watched how the creative process unfolded. Since starting, I’ve turned street trash into treasure and hidden it for people to find. I’ve also started a project called Tinycard. Which is the next project in the portfolio. As always, mush love.
TINYCARD
Create magical and memorable tiny moments with strangers the people you love the most. Tinycard has rolled off the back of mushlove. I love it when strangers meet for the first time, especially if it’s through a medium that makes it fun. Tiny cards serve as the perfect ice breaker without words. They are designed to inspire interactions, spark conversations, create relationships and memorable moments.
THE EROTIC STORIES
The Erotic Stories was an exploration into bringing people together to talk about what was erotic and then anonymously invite people to write and / or record their experiences experiences, which were then played for the curious at small festivals. The goal was to capture authentic experiences and guide the listener through the narrative using sound production.
EVERYDAY
Everyday, well nearly everyday, I’ve tried to take a photo of wherever I am in the moment, wherever I am. After 14 years, I’ve decided to publish it after request from friends. The photos are are stitched together into a video sequence. I’ve had multiple phones that have broken over time so the photos become higher in quality over the years but don’t make me look any younger. I was inspired by @NoahKalina on youtube. He’s the OG everyday’er going for over 25 years now... I relate to the idea that we are a new self everyday. I think I’m more comfortable with the idea of death, or dying everyday and waking up a new self.
KNOT SO GOOD
An idea inspired by an accident. Macrame gone wild. I was a cross stitch / knitting patch, that was losing it’s thread in a crowd. I got a family member to hold one end of the string, and then walked through the crowd with the string unravelling. After walking through a sea of several thousand people, the string was being held up by hundreds of people’s fingers and staffs. But as I ravelled in the string, that’s when something amazing happened.
THE ALCHEMISTS OF LILA
Over the past few years, I’ve been getting more involved in live performance art with other artists. The Alchemists of Lila is the name of our collective forming. Lila means ‘divine play’. We are an assembly of creative artists. The mission of the Alchemists is to transform people through performance, with a big emphasis on interaction, participation and play.
THIS FAR
if you’ve got this far, maybe we should should go further. I would love to hear from you if you relate or have experienced any of my work / wanted to collaborate:
